    Preparation and cooking overview

Whipping up this roasted turkey and gravy couldn't be simpler. Start by browning the seasoned turkey breast in a skillet. Then, pop it in the oven. While it's roasting, prepare a luscious gravy with chicken broth, almond flour, heavy cream, and xanthan gum. In less than an hour, you'll serve a delicious dinner!

    Chef's note

Feel free to jazz up the seasoning with fresh herbs. Instead of thyme, try basil or oregano. Swap out the thyme for fresh basil or oregano for a different flavor. Craving a bit more zing? Toss in garlic powder, paprika, or your favorite spice. And if you're after some heat, a pinch of red chili or cayenne pepper will do the trick.

    Chef's pro tip

To get that perfect darker almond flour gravy, timing is key. Add your liquid just as the flour turns golden. Be cautious – if it cooks too long, the flour can burn, affecting the taste. Keep a close eye for the best results!

What to serve with a roasted turkey breast?

The roasted turkey with low-carb gravy works great as a standalone dish. But if you want to expand your meal, try pairing it with these options:

    • Cauliflower Mash: Enjoy the slices of turkey with a side of creamy cauliflower mash. It tastes like potato mash but without carbs.
    • Creamed Spinach: Serve the turkey breast with creamy sautéd spinach for a nutritious meal.
    • Grilled Vegetables: Lightly roasted vegetables pair well with the juicy meat. You can even try Roasted Brussels Sprouts or Mediterranean Asparagus.
    • Greek Salad: For a light side dish, pair the turkey breast with a Greek salad that's both low-carb and tasty.
Turkey breast, roasted and sliced, topped with keto gravy on a plate with a fork and a knife.

    How to make it healthier?

    • Opt for low-sodium or sodium-free broth and limit the added salt, especially if you're watching your sodium intake.

    Time-saving tips

    • Opt for a store-bought broth that's keto-friendly and low in sodium.
Slices of roasted turkey breast, served with keto gravy on a plate.

What can I prepare ahead of time?

    • Marinate the turkey with herbs and spices a few hours before cooking. This extra time allows the flavors to deeply infuse into the meat, enhancing the overall taste.

    Storage and reheating instructions

    Storage instructions

    • Refrigerator: Store the leftover turkey pieces and gravy in separate airtight containers in the fridge. They'll stay fresh and delicious for up to 3-4 days.

    Best reheating practices

    • Oven: Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C). Place turkey slices in an oven-safe dish, cover with aluminum foil, and heat for 10-12 minutes.
    • Stovetop: Heat the leftover gravy in a saucepan over low-medium heat, whisking occasionally. Alternatively, reheat the turkey in a skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side.

I have been visiting your website but it’s my probably first time trying one of your recipes. Actually even the cast iron thing is quite plausible because cast iron is very healthy unlike those non stick pans. I do not use mine at all until now because it’s heavy and hard to clean (mine is
like a grill), Somehow I haven’t thought of using cast iron in the oven too, one less pan to clean! I’m very clumsy in the kitchen, I was afraid I was gonna burn myself while holding a heavy hot pan but thank god it went well. I’m going in and out of keto-low carb due to having to cook all the time myself.

It’s also my first time to cook a turkey breast that turns out not too dry. I have never tasted gravy before, I knew it could be very tasty, I suppose this might be better than original one. this recipe of yours is heavenly delicious, thank you a lot!
