Chef's note
To make your keto ham sliders mimic the taste of traditional Hawaiian rolls, consider adding pineapple extract and a bit of your preferred keto sweetener to the dough. This additional step will add a flavor similar to the delightful Hawaiian rolls found in the classic recipe.

How to make Keto Ham and Cheese Sliders: step-by-step guide
Cooking methods
Preparation steps
- Gather all the necessary ingredients in your workspace.
- Thinly slice your Swiss cheese and deli ham.
- Next, prepare the butter mixture by mincing the white onion and adding it to a mixing bowl. To the same bowl, add unsalted butter, yellow mustard, poppy seeds, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until everything is mixed well and set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Cooking instructions
- Bake a batch of 12 dinner rolls using the Keto Dinner Rolls recipe.
- Once the dinner rolls have cooled down, slice them in half horizontally. This forms the top and bottom parts of the sliders.
- Start building your sliders. On the bottom half of each roll, layer Swiss cheese, ham, and the prepared butter mixture. After that, place the top half of the roll on each.
- Transfer the assembled sliders into the oven. Bake for about 10 minutes or until the cheese starts to melt.
- After baking, remove the sliders from the oven. Using a knife, cut them into individual mini sandwiches.
- Serve your sliders hot, and enjoy!
Chef's pro tip
Keep a close eye on your sliders in their final baking stage. If the dinner rolls start to brown before the cheese has had a chance to melt, don't panic! Simply take a piece of aluminum foil and loosely cover the sliders. This stops the rolls from over-browning while giving the cheese enough time to reach a deliciously gooey state.

I think next time I make these dinner rolls (cus yeah it will FOR SURE be a next time, again and again and again) I will put poppyseeds into the batter/dough before baking. Love the crunchy feeling when you chew 😀 Thanks for sharing!!
Susan H says
Loved these growing up and think my gluten free kiddos would also. If I made the rolls. Refrigerated them overnight..then made into ham sliders would that be better than making dough and refrigerating overnight. Baking and then making sliders?
Alex Lester says
If I were to pick I would choose to make the dough a refrigerate overnight, it will help the rolls keep their shape even better.
Rachel says
How many sandwiches per serving for the 5 net carbs?
Alex Lester says
That would be 2.

I never comment on blogs, but I love yours!

Thanks Shelley!

In the picture there are poppy seeds on top of the rolls and I seem to remember the original recipe calling for pouring some of the butter mixture, melted, over the sandwiches after assembled. Am I missing something in my reading of your recipe? Does all the butter mixture go inside the rolls? I am SO looking forward to making these!!!
Thanks,
Amy
