Instructions
Make the keto BBQ sauce
Heat avocado oil in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
Sauté the onion for 2-3 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 20 seconds.
Stir in the cayenne pepper, freshly cracked black pepper, sea salt, smoked paprika, and Swerve brown sweetener. Toast for about 10 seconds.
Then, pour in the tomato sauce, mustard, maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, and apple cider vinegar.
Stir and let it simmer on low heat for 20-25 minutes or until the sauce gets thick
Cook the ribs
Turn your oven to 275°F (135°C) and turn the broiler on high. Make sure the oven rack is near the broiler.
Cut the whole rack of ribs into individual pieces.
Use a thin knife to take off the clear membrane from the ribs. Slide the knife under the membrane, lift it away from the bone, and pull it off.
Sprinkle the ribs with salt and pepper.
Put two tablespoons of BBQ sauce on the meaty side of the ribs.
Lay the ribs with the sauce side down on a baking sheet lined with foil. Cover the ribs with another piece of foil.
Put the baking sheet in the hot oven.
Bake the ribs for 15 minutes or until the sauce gets darker. Watch closely, as broilers can vary.
Take the ribs out of the oven, turn them over, and spread two more tablespoons of BBQ sauce on each rib.
Put the ribs back in the oven, but don’t cover them with foil this time. Cook for 15 more minutes.
Take the ribs out of the oven and let them rest a little before you serve them.
