Instructions
Melt the butter in a 5-quart Dutch oven. While it's heating up, sprinkle the beef shoulder roast with salt and pepper.
Place the seasoned roast in the hot butter, and cook it for 5 minutes on each side until a nice crust forms.
Put the sliced onions and hot cherry peppers on top of the roast. Then sprinkle the dried spices over it and pour the broth into the pot.
Let everything cook on a low simmer with the pot covered for about 3 hours.
When it's done, the beef should be very tender. Shred it and stir it back into the pot with the sauce. It should look like gravy now.
Serve the dish right away, or store it in the fridge in a sealed container for up to 5 days.
