Once hot, lay the beef tenderloin in the skillet. Add butter and let it melt, ensuring the beef is coated. Sear the beef for about 2 minutes on each side until you get a golden-brown crust.
After searing, move the skillet with the beef into the already-preheated oven.
Roast for 15-20 minutes. For a medium-rare finish, ensure the meat's internal temperature is around 135°F (60°C). Use a meat thermometer for this step.
Once done, take the skillet out of the oven. Allow the tenderloin to sit for approximately 5 minutes to allow the juices to settle nicely. Then, carve into thick, beautiful slices.
