Chop the bacon into small pieces and place them in an 8" cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
Brown the bacon until crispy, then set it aside. Leave about 1 tablespoon of bacon oil in the skillet.
Add the sliced onions to the skillet with the remaining bacon grease. Reduce the heat to low and cook the onions, stirring frequently, until they become soft and caramelized, which should take around 20 minutes.
Introduce the garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute until it's soft. Then, add the cooked bacon and all the other ingredients except for the parmesan. Mix everything well. Sprinkle the top with parmesan cheese.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes.
Assemble the cheese board
For your accompaniments, gather an assortment of salami, pork rinds, blueberries, cornichons, cauliflower florets, asparagus, radishes, blue cheese, a wedge of brie cheese, Moon Cheese, and aged cheddar.
To assemble the board, place the skillet of the caramelized onion dip in the center of your serving area.
Artfully arrange the accompaniments around the dip, creating an appealing and inviting display.
