– 1 pound beef tenderloin

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

-   3 cloves garlic, minced

-   1 tablespoon chopped fresh      rosemary

-   1 ½ tablespoons chopped fresh      thyme

-   Sea salt, to taste

1.  Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

2.  Combine the olive oil, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Thoroughly coat the beef tenderloin with this herbed butter mixture.

3. Warm your cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.

4. Once hot, lay the beef tenderloin in the skillet. Add butter and let it melt, ensuring the beef is coated. Sear the beef for about 2 minutes on each side until you get a golden-brown crust.

5. After searing, move the skillet with the beef into the already-preheated oven.

6. Roast for 15-20 minutes. For a medium-rare finish, ensure the meat's internal temperature is around 135°F (60°C). Use a meat thermometer for this step.

7. Once done, take the skillet out of the oven. Allow the tenderloin to sit for approximately 5 minutes to allow the juices to settle nicely. Then, carve into thick, beautiful slices.

8. Your cast iron beef tenderloin is ready to serve!
